Miss Augusta Rutledge
Dearest Friend
Two years
ago last night at this time 9-15 p m I
wonder if you remember where I was it was setting beside of a girl that
I now call my Sweetheart dose it seem like that long since
the first time I called on you
Mount
Pleasant certainly had a fine night for children
services but I dident help to sing for they dident practice any last
week they all had their parts good.
Grace is
going to Alliance tomorrow and go to Rock Springs Friday
I dident
go to Minerva Monday I decided I would stay
at home and work for I dident want to miss any more time than I had to.
if I would of went and got hurt I would of sent for you
for you could comfort me better than any one else.
Did you
get Ruths card? Bob brought it on around and I just sent it on for I
knew you would like to hear forom the girls
I was up
at Saltys Monday afternoon helping him to
haul in hay and here is what he told me to tell you. he always calls me
Hessie here is what he said "Hessie you mind that Sunday
evening that I was down there when you people all went to town? well I
was just sizeing up them three girls and I decided that your girl
looked more like a woman than any of them she is nearer the
right size for I dont like a girl that is sawed off to soon"
Now what
do you think of that? and he said to tell you that he was the same old
Salty.
Yes I
wish you would of been here to of rode behind
kil-Saturday evening to for we would of surly had a fine time think of
the times have had behind her guess if is a good thing that
cant talk and we will have good times behind her yet if I dont sell her
I
recieved word last week that a cousin of mine in
California died and he was worth about $50,000 gee I wish they would
send me some of it.
I suppose
you had a fine time Sunday and suppose that
fellow wanted to take you out for a ride in his auto when I was going
to children services I thought of you
Say Kid
you never have said a word about school how are you getting along anyhow
Hazel was
home for children services I was talking to
her there was an awful large crowd there they couldent all get in the
church the collection amounted to over $11 no sweetheart I
don't think you are getting gay at all for you are not that kind of a
girl or at least I think so or never will untill I see it with my own
eyes and I dont get tired reading your sweet letters either
for they do me worlds of good. so you know you cant write to much
well I
will close for to night and finish in the morning if I can think
anything more so good night sweetheart and sweet dreams
