To my Sweetheart.
not 17
hours have past since I had you in my arms but I find myself with
pencil in hand to do as I promiced, to write to you.
what did
you think of that rain this eve marshal and I
were hauling hay and got stormstayed in a barn and we both went to
sleep when we woke up the sun was shining.
Did ma
scold you when you got home? I hope she dident for a dear girl like you
should not be scolded.
The kids
have been teasing me all day John said Laura
was looking out the kitchen window when we were on the porch and he
said "Laura seen you kiss Augusta" now what do you think of
that? Oh well it was only between you and I so no difference we will do
it again if we want to wont we kid.
Oh you
ought to hear the expressions Bob is making.
When you
are away be a good girl and think of one who loves you for you are
allways first in my thoughts
and for
goodness sake dont miss the train Sat. morning.
Well kid
I coulod write lots more if I wasent so
sleepy. but I will have to close and go to bed. hoping that when you
return you will learn to love me for what more would I want than
your love.
may the
Father of all guide and protect you.
Dont feel
bad sweetheart but the tears fills my eyes
when I think if I should never see you again oh how foolish for you
will return to me
Augusta I
am going to try and be a better boy from this on now I will close
I remain Yours and Yours only with Love
Harry,
