 Dear Augusta

    While you are enjoying yourself in company of others (you know who I mean) I am in my lonliness but not for long for I am going to be in company before long (I mean the bed)
    How did you get over the fair? I got over the fair allright but havent got over the opera yet. Am still stage-struck ha' ha"
    I was never more surprised in my life than I was this morning when I awoke it was raining was glad to see it rain and was sorry too for it spoiled the plans Georgia and I made last night on the court house steps if you dont understand ask me and I will tell you Sat night
    What time do you think it was when I got home last night just 4.00 A M 20 hours with out sleep but no diff. When it is with you.
    You must think think I am a good protector of Coure you will ask why because first you left in my pocket your gloves then your money then your combs and now your whip is in my buggy. I will protect what ever I have of yours and you too when your are with me "I'll just make a note of this" ha' ha"
    Oh say kid there is to much band music here for me to write three pieces have started and hard telling when they will stop so I will ring off for this time.

Dear Friend.

    Was sorry to hear of you being sick but hope you are better by this time.
    Was just ready to start Sunday evening when you called me so I got Warner and went to League any-way
    Kuhn had Mary out Sunday night was a little surprised to see them to-gather
    Did you feel sore at me for not telling you about what Morris said about you for heaven sake kid dont for I told you Friday night what I thought best.
    I only hope you will go after him about it. I just want to get him out some place and I will tell him what I think
    I have something to tell you when I see you about Thanksgiving
    Will it suit for me to call Saturday night only hope it will.
    Am going to Dellroy some day this week and if we cant get rooms and board ourselves am not going this winter
    think I will go to town Friday and see the dentist when he can fix my teeth
    as it is bed-time I will close for I expect you are geting tired reading this
    So I will close with a Good Night and Pleasant Dreams

Dear Friend.

    This afternoon finds me writing to you as I promised. Was out hunting this forenoon am at school this afternoon trying my best
    Have not talked to John yet think I will call him tonight but you and Florence go in the forenoon even if Maggie cant go untill in the afternoon we will have a fine time.
    Some of the people want to give Hazel a surprise some night after Mr Buchanan and Ira goes away dont know if they will or not.
    Why cant we go to the surenade Thurs night if they have it
    "We would apriciate it very much if you boys wouldent smoke around the church" the old beet had better go soak her head.
    Say Kid I cant think anything else to write so guess I will clos as I expect to see you about two or three times this week will call you on the 'phone about Thanksgiving
    Will now close hope you can go hunting
