Miss Augusta Rutledge
Dear Friend.
This
winter evening finds me with pencil in hand to ans. your letter
recieved last week.
What do
you think of this for winter it suites me allright if it was only a
good sleighing snow
I saw
Will T Monday and was talking to him
about a surprise party for Hazel and he is in for it I think we had
better have it I will do all I can to help it along.
we were
at Will Rutledges last night, and had lots of music and fun.
Warner,
Roy, ∓ I are going to the spelling Friday night and see how
many times we can get spelled down, ha! ha!!
You ought
to see my grades for last month. if I
am not mistaken they run 99 1/4%. My lowest grade is 95%. if I can only
do that good all along, think I will pass the examination in
the spring hope so any way.
As I am
getting sleepy and cant think of any more to write I will bring this to
a close
With best
wishes I remain. Your True Friend and Harry.
P.S. I found out where that serenade was
Saturday night it was at Coffy's Georgiana was married. H

Dear Friend
I will now
try and answer your letter
Suppose
you got home allright Sun night, I did.
but had a thought on my mind it was about you haveing to go by your
self But now I have a deeper thought it is concerning my self
Last night was the first time that I ever listened to the sermon and
then thought of it after ward. thought of it going home when I was by
my self was when it got me.
Dont know
if I will go to church to night or
not but expect I will. Ike told me that you caught up to him at Neals
all that I heard yesterday from Roy Booth was "You had a long walk
dident you"? well as this is my second letter first one to Florence and
this one to you and havent got my lesson and it is class time now So I
will close Hoping to hear from you soon and see you too
and hope that you will hold on to what you have started in that is to
live a christian life and may I not be far behind you I still remain a
true
Friend Harry.
